A little late this week, due to workload and tablet troubles.
This almost wasn’t going to be a comic, but a few things lately reminded me of the idea for the strip, and I figured that there couldn’t be a better time to draw it! (Especially as it may act as a nice lead in to next week’s comic!)

Amélie Fowler has recently graduated from the Edinburgh College of Art with an Honours Degree, and has had some of her work featured in Source magazine’s showcase of graduate photography. I heartily recommend checking out her and her fellow students’ work!

I recently had the opportunity to create another digital painting, this time in the form of a character I’m really looking forward to reading more about – Vora, Princess of the Skies. I was able to have a bit of fun with the layout and theme of this one; didn’t want to go for anything too stereotypical, but instead play around a little more with the underlying theme and allegory.

This week sees the return of my dad, who is awesome.
Expiration dates, however, are somewhat less awesome!

This is one of the few comics which is entirely fictional. Couldn’t be helped though; political cartoons just don’t sit right with me. At least the ones I’ve seen so far, which basically amount to a metaphor so far extended that its original meaning becomes ambiguous to the point of insignificance.
Also I guess I just kinda feel like getting to label stuff is cheating! ;P
(As a sidenote, I’m not suggesting that political cartoonists aren’t talented. Just that, to me, the nature of the cartoons themselves is just… kinda… yeeeaah.)

I recently finished working on a branding project to create an identity for Life:Salve Homeopathy.
I was asked to design the logo, letterhead, double-sided business card, A5 promotional flyer, and 6 page double-sided practice leaflet.

Business cards also double as appointment reminders.

Yes, it’s that time again – the future! And because the future is such a (probably) bleak and desolate place, those who live there are going to need all the cheering up they can get. Hence, another addition to the collection of advice and soon-to-be memories that is Life Tips for the Future-impaired.

More information, and previous Life Tips, after the jump!

In other awesome news, I recently wrote a logo design tutorial for Design Instruct which has just been published today! You can read it in full here.

This week’s comic sees the return of Mister Kent, and takes place in a cocktail bar in Manchester.
I’m not really sure what else there is to add. There are just those times when you just gotta squint. Y’know?
You know.

Had two ideas for this week’s (belated) strip. This is neither! This kinda happened and then it kinda was a comic.
Also a couple of notes about this comic:
-It’s the first strip to be drawn and inked traditionally since number 100!
-It’s the last strip for at least the next two weeks to be mainly Chris-focal! Rejoice, for you get a break from my freakish mug!

I got home today, and found this note waiting for me as I walked in. Nice!
The good news is no, that isn’t actually my Hard Drive.
The other good news is that I now have an old HDD and circuit board to play around with for my design experiments, which is always fun!

I’m not entirely sure what I can say about this week’s comic, other than that sometimes everything you’ve build up can be destroyed by a single errant utterance.
Kinda like [insert one of many applicable examples], AMIRITE?

This week’s As You’re Up comic is probably one of the oddest so far – which is by no means an easy feat.
This strip features Rick Valicenti and Ryan McGovern (both of whom I would like to deeply apologize to for the sheer absurdity of what I have just done), and the punchline comes courtesy of Matthew Egan!
To provide a little context, the following image shows what led to this strip being created:

You can catch the show in question over at Design Chat, which is well worth checking out – and if you’ve an interest in design then I highly recommend being there for the live shows every Wednesday at 8pm CST!

This week’s As You’re Up comic focuses on just how awesome my missus and I are! How awesome, you ask? Well, the anser can be found right here!
The answer which is, of course, VERY.

This comic wraps up the series of strips recounting my escapades in Texas (for the time being!)
